A Shepherd Girl from Morocco – Najat Vallaud-Belkacem has become France’s Education Minister!

We all want to make true our dreams & desires, but few of us really act upon them. We start a new thing and give up or tend to make excuses all the time. But, the success story of Najat Vallaud-Belkacem proves that there is still some souls who defeat all the barriers life laid at their feet and carved their destiny.
Once a shepherd girl who used to bring water from the well – Najat moved to France. While living with their family, she got a chance to meet the real world full of opportunities. Being a Moroccan girl, she actually had no proficiency in French learned the language in college.

Najat was studying under the patronage and strict rules (no boys and no nightclubs till the age of 18) of her father. As a result, she completely abandoned herself to studies. While studying at the college, she got the chance to pursue higher education with the prestigious Institute “Sciences Po”. This opportunity set her on the path winding the political landscape in France.

Some Walkthrough Her Journey

While pursuing her Master’s, Najat did two jobs in order to take the financial load of her parents. During this time, she met her fellow student -Boris Vallaud, both of them fell in love and got married in 2005. Her political career started when she joined the Socialist Party as an adviser of Lyon (Mayor). Later, she tried in elections and got the seat of the Councilor. In 2012, Najat was elected as the Minister of Women’s Affairs, then the Socialist president.

In 2014, Najat worked as the Minister of Women’s Right, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Minister of City Affairs. Later she was elevated to serve as the Minister of Education.
“I always advise the youths to be involved in politics. The easiest way to be happy with your future is by playing a part in the politics.” Najat reveals.
